Médoc will delight all kinds of sport lovers !

Whether you are thrill seekers, fans of big sport performances or simply looking for a relaxing break with your family, Médoc is here for you.

In the air, at sea or on land, from the easiest to the most extreme sport, all choices are available.

While the boldest will be trying parachute jumping in Soulac or microlight aircraft flights in Carcans, the youngest will be able to learn sailing or surfing. Families will have the opportunity to discover Médoc by canoeing, cycling, horse riding or walking.

Looking for the perfect swing

On the banks of the Estuary, in the middle of the vineyards, in the depth of the forest or along the fine sandy beaches, golf lovers will have a great time. Whether you are new to the green or a seasoned veteran, looking for 9 or 18 holes, you will come across your dream in one of the numerous golf courses which are located in Médoc. As for nudists, they will drive and swing in La Jenny Golf, in Le Porge, which is the only nudist golf course in the world.

Each one has his spot

With its numerous spots, which are all different, Médoc is a paradise for surfers. No space for monotony here ! The movements of sandbanks ensure that the waves are always different from each other. The numerous surf schools on the coastline welcome beginners as well as experienced surfers for a couple of hours or training periods of several days.

The real addicts won’t miss the « Lacanau Pro », which is the season’s true highlight, and has hosted for 40 years the great champions from all around the world.

It’s fun to run !

In the woods, on the beach, in the vineyards or along the Estuary, there is no lack of trails to enjoy running. The strongest will chose the numerous competitions which are organised in Médoc throughout the year. Marathons, half-marathons, triathlons ! In Margaux you will even find a race which is only for women !

Costumes and good humour are guaranteed.

Wind in the sails

What better place than Médoc to enjoy all types of sailing ? Whereas seasoned navigators will head towards the Ocean or the Estuary starting from Port-Médoc, the young buccaneers will train on Hourtin-Carcans and Lacanau Lakes. Thrill seekers will taste the pleasures of kitesurfing, water-skiing or jet-skiing. Families wanting to share a pleasant time on the river will go down the canals and channels by canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle.
